I Know A Little Bit
I know a little bit about how to make an "ouchie" all better --
An Eskimo kiss, a bear hug, a piece of chocolate.
I know a little bit about how to scare the monsters under the bed away --
A flashlight, a song, a "sleep tight."
But I know nothing about how to prevent your heart from breaking --
From indifferent peers, from fair-weathered friends, from disloyal lovers.
I know a little bit about riding a bike --
Helmet on, steer steady, pedal hard.
I know a little bit about how to swim --
Deep breath, sidestroke, treading water.
But I know nothing about how to completely let go of you --
From your spot at my side, from your you place in my arms as I rock you at night.
I know a little bit about our world --
The sun will set, the stars will shine, kindness makes the world go round.
I know a little bit about your heart --
Full of compassion, overflowing with curiosity, built on strength.
But I know nothing about the world that awaits you in the future--
I hope it's world of love, I want it to accept you as you are, I pray that you will embrace it back.

Pretty verse. I know exactly how you feel.
